Yield Forecasting: Synergies between the Global Strategy and the AMIS project

Methods for crop production forecasts address two components – methods for measuring areas to be harvested and methods for estimating forecasted yields. The former is relatively straightforward, while the estimate of expected yield is more challenging to obtain. In addition, there is a wide variety of approaches and methods to estimate expected yield.


Implementing the CAADP Results Framework at country level

In the framework of the 45th session of the UN Statistical Commission, a side-event was co-organized by the African Union Commission (AUC), the New Planning and Coordinating Agency (NPCA), FAO, USAID and the World Bank to discuss the CAADP Results Framework as the principal mechanism for coordinating demand for reform on agricultural statistics and to review the possibilities for collaboration with the Global Strategy to improve Agricultural and Rural Statistics.
